I had a deeply distressing experience because of the anaesthetist, although the surgeon and nurses were otherwise kind and caring. My procedure under sedation was scheduled for 12:00 pm. I was initially told that the anaesthetist would be around 10 minutes late, but I waited longer than this. At 12:12 pm, while the procedure had still not begun, I started bleeding and passing thick material. The pain and cramping then became severe, and I developed extreme dizziness and vasovagal symptoms. By the time the procedure began, my medical record states that approximately 2 cm of pregnancy tissue had already passed into my vagina and that I was “distressed with pain and cramping prior to procedure”. I paid £1,960 for treatment under sedation specifically because I am very sensitive to pain and wanted to avoid experiencing the painful process of a medical abortion while fully conscious. Because of the delay, I nevertheless experienced a substantial part of that process before being sedated. This raises an obvious question: what was the purpose of paying for the most expensive sedated option if the procedure did not begin on time and I was left conscious while the pregnancy tissue was already passing? I was also concerned that the anaesthetist appeared not to have reviewed the medical history and allergy information collected at my first consultation. He asked important medical questions in English only when I was already bleeding, severely dizzy and in intense pain. Although I had paid separately for Mandarin support, no interpreter was available for this interaction. When I struggled to understand the medical terminology and tried to explain, he appeared impatient, repeatedly interrupted me and raised his voice. At least one nurse appeared uncomfortable with his manner and tried to intervene. The anaesthetist did not apologise for the delay. I have submitted a formal complaint and requested a full investigation and refund. The surgeon and nurses deserve credit for trying to care for me once I became unwell, but my experience with the anaesthetist and the clinic’s organisation caused avoidable physical and emotional distress.
I couldn’t recommend The Gynae Centre enough. I’ve been having issues for the past 5 years and not been able to get to the bottom with it with the NHS, but Dr Alex was able to help me really quickly. Within a month I have had my first consultation, procedure & follow up appointment. All of the team are so friendly and made me feel so at ease especially with it being an intimate area. Dr Alex is full of so much knowledge and will make you feel very comfortable and confident in his care which is exactly what you want. Also the prices are very reasonable considering the location and compared to other places which I looked into. Would highly recommend The Gynae Centre to anyone, cannot thank you all enough!! xx

I had a very positive experience overall. From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere at the clinic was welcoming and professional. The reception staff were very warm and friendly. They greeted me with a smile and helped me through the registration process patiently. Everything was explained clearly, which made the whole process smooth and stress-free. The environment of the clinic was also very comfortable and clean. The waiting area was quiet and well organized, which made it easy to relax while waiting. The staff were attentive and made sure patients were looked after, creating a reassuring and supportive atmosphere. The doctor was extremely professional and knowledgeable, which left a strong impression on me. During the consultation, the doctor listened carefully to all of my concerns and took the time to answer every question I had. None of my questions felt rushed or dismissed. Instead, the doctor explained everything in detail from a professional perspective, helping me clearly understand my condition and the options available to me. What I appreciated the most was the doctor’s patience and attention to detail. The doctor not only addressed my main concerns but also asked thoughtful follow-up questions to better understand my situation. The explanations were clear and easy to understand, which helped me feel much more confident and reassured throughout the consultation. Overall, it was a very satisfying experience. From the friendly reception staff to the professional and patient doctor, every part of the visit reflected a high standard of care and service. The whole process felt smooth, comfortable, and reassuring.
I found the staff and Dr Eskander very pleasant and welcoming. I was nervous about the consultation, as I need to have a hysteroscopy before I can proceed with fertility treatment, but my mind was quickly put at ease. Dr Eskander is very knowledgeable and explained everything very clearly, answering any questions I had with kindness and compassion. The pricing I found was very transparent and although an unexpected expense in my fertility journey is manageable. I’m very satisfied so far with my experience and would highly recommend The Gynae Centre.
