I have a botched molar metal crown done by a previous NHS dentist. I requested from this practice that they replace the crown and the dentist here told me that they can't do it and my only option is to remove the tooth entirely which I refused. They have then sent me to a "specialist" which was in fact some students learning dentistry at a hospital only to be told the same thing, effectively wasting my time and money I used to travel there. I refused to believe that this was my only option, therefore, while on my holiday to Romania (my country of origin), I visited a dentist that told me that they can replace the crown no problem by shaving off the metal around the tooth stump and placing a proper porcelain crown at no extra cost from the cost of the procedure. The catch was that the crown needed to be measured properly and ordered in, so I would need 2 visits which due to limited time, I wasn't able to undergo. That put in perspective that where there is a will there is a way and that it is no wonder British dentistry feels like from the stone age compared to Eastern European dentistry. I'm pretty sure they can do it, they just won't. Not only that. But online, on the NHS website clearly says you can choose white crowns and they are covered under the NHS bands, but the dentist here refused to do any white crowns or white fillings under NHS pricing, even on the front teeth. I don't expect other NHS dentists to be better, but this is where I'm registered so that's why I'm leaving the review here. Registering anywhere else takes 6 months of waiting so you're kind of stuck.
My visit was to see the hygienist. Kate is wonderful. She listened to my concerns and gave me very good advice about caring for my teeth. She explained everything beforehand and I was very happy with the result. I have been going to this surgery for years and highly recommend them.
I had not been to the dentist since 2023 as I could not get a suitable appointment time. Finally had an appointment on Monday. The staff are very friendly and polite. The dentist that saw me was very gentle snd gave good advice. Great service.
Kate was the kindest hygienist I’ve ever had. Doctor Kleila was also super sweet. Both of them were so thorough and took such good care of me. It was my first time at this practice and I will definitely return.
I went for a scale and polish and was DREADING it since I recall other procedures that were brutal to say the least. However, techniques have clearly moved on during the embarrasingly long period since my last dental appointment. Katarzyna Cyndrowska is very good and I was able to endure the long-ish session without squirming. I would highly recommend her.
