There are not enough words to express my gratitude to the team at Imperial College Healthcare Private Care. I truly have never met kinder people. From the very beginning, every single member of the team treated me and my family with such warmth and humanity that we immediately felt at home. Their professionalism is matched only by their empathy and genuine care, which makes all the difference during such important moments. I want to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart, especially Rachel, Cristal, and Lilian, who left a lasting impression with their dedication and kindness. I wish I could name everyone, because each one of you holds a special place in my heart. I will always be deeply grateful.
Had a brilliant experience on the Stanley Clayton ward following a Caesarian with my first child. The staff were all really friendly and accommodating in allowing my husband to stay in the side room for the duration. My main concerns were my daughter’s safety and wellbeing as she was premature, and successfully establishing breastfeeding/weaning off her NGT. I found the nursing staff really helpful when I was asking for advice re. Establishing a good latch and problem solving when she was often very sleepy at feeding times. The staff all came across very caring and friendly and the care they showed me, my husband and my daughter was really lovely. They were very accepting and accommodating of the many visitors I had and the food was really excellent! The only things I feel could be improved upon were that we were moved down quite late and this unfortunately coincided with a difficult night breastfeeding, so this was a bit unsettling having moved from the labour ward where I had become familiar with the environment and the staff. On occasion I felt there was additional pressure being applied regarding NGT top ups and the ‘quality’ of the breastfeeds which increased my anxiety levels ( and made it harder to express milk) when all of the above was very new. At times it also felt like some staff were encouraging the introduction of a bottle as advantageous to get off the NGT quicker and get home quicker. However, this contradicted the advice we were getting from the neonatal team to best establish successful breastfeeding which felt important to us and we were fortunate enough to go on to experience. However, once we got to know the staff well and we felt our concerns had been heard my anxiety levels massively reduced. The staff at Stanley Clayton were really great at supporting me as a new mum with all the fluctuating hormones and the unknowns that we were presented with.
I wanted to take a moment to share my experience at Queen Charlotte’s Hospital, specifically with two incredible members of the team: Midwife Olivia West and Midwife Janinne Tasli. 1. Olivia West – Labour Care: From the moment I arrived to the labour ward, Olivia was a beacon of calm, kindness, and professionalism. While I didn’t have a rigid birth plan, I knew there were a few things I wanted to try, and Olivia went above and beyond to advocate for my wishes. She was so gentle and patient, especially when my cervix was high and I needed help getting my baby’s head in the right position. Olivia provided me with a range of options and positions to try, making me feel empowered and in control, despite the uncertainty of the situation. When it became clear that I needed an emergency C-section, I felt overwhelmed, but having Olivia by my side made all the difference. She was there every step of the way, offering reassurance, staying calm, and helping me remain composed. I am deeply grateful for her support through what was a very intense and emotional time. 2. Janinne Tasli – Postpartum Care: Postpartum care is often just as important as labour, and I was lucky to have Janinne Tasli supporting me during this time. Janinne is the kind of midwife every new mum hopes for. She is incredibly cheery, bubbly, and clearly passionate about her work. Her bedside manner was so warm, making me feel safe and supported during a time when I was completely exhausted. Janinne went above and beyond to support me with breastfeeding, patiently guiding me and helping my baby latch properly. She was always available when I had questions or concerns, and her ability to calm my nerves was invaluable. What truly stood out to me was the fact that she took my baby for three hours overnight, allowing my husband and me to get some much-needed sleep. That small act of kindness made all the difference – without it, I truly think I would have lost my sanity. I cannot thank Janinne enough for her exceptional care and for being exactly the kind of support every new mum needs during such a delicate time. Conclusion: Both Olivia and Janinne made a world of difference to my experience at Queen Charlotte’s. Their dedication, kindness, and professionalism helped make my time there feel more manageable, even during moments of high stress. I am beyond thankful for their care and feel incredibly lucky to have had them with me. Queen Charlotte’s is fortunate to have such remarkable professionals on their team, and I will always remember the incredible support I received from both Olivia and Janinne.
I genuinely could not recommend the Stanley Clayton Ward & Team at QCCH enough. I had the most wonderful experience as a first time mum, the team were attentive, compassionate and professional. My induction process went so smoothy, and we felt heard & cared for post delivery as well. I would 1000% come back for the delivery of my next baby.
Great experience in the Clayton Ward after the birth of our daughter. Felt so well looked after and the midwives were brilliantly attentive and offered wonderful advice on feeding throughout the night. Money well spent!
