Used to be an excellent service. Now speaking to a doctor has become as easy as to get a degree in Medicine. The system is complex and ends up telling you "go to A&E" or "speak to a nurse" making you waste time and effort, in a time where really you don't have much of either. You want to discuss the appointment? call a number and you'll be told "ah - you have to go through the system again". And if you do, and you get the same undesired outcome... what are your only solutions? Well, either call the number again (snake and ladders anyone?) or go through an appointment you don't need to be told "ah - you need to make an appointment with a doctor"...

I have been registered with GP at Hand for several years and, after briefly trying another GP service, chose to return because of the positive experiences I had previously.
Throughout my time with the practice, I have felt that my concerns were taken seriously by the clinicians I spoke with. The clinicians have generally been compassionate, professional, and approachable, which can make a real difference when discussing personal health matters.
The service has evolved considerably over the years. When I first joined, patients could choose their preferred clinician and view clinician biographies, which helped when seeking support for particular needs. Since the integration with the NHS App, this feature is no longer available, likely reflecting both operational changes and increased demand for the service.
In my experience, I have usually been able to secure appointments promptly when needed. Follow-up care, referrals, and investigations have also been managed efficiently, which I have appreciated.
While some administrative processes feel less streamlined than they once did, I have generally found GP at Hand to provide a more responsive and accessible service than other GP practices I have used.
Overall, my experience with GP at Hand has been very positive, and I hope that continues for many years to come. With that said, I do hope posting this review doesn't somehow jinx my good run so far!

All of the doctors I’ve spoke to are very useful. I had an appt with Dr Rob Nelson today to discuss some symptoms to a medication and he not only helped me with that but actually talked me through additional options and prescribed me with something new. He was extremely patient and gave me all the space to ask questions and was very honest . It was appreciated .

I transfered to them a few months ago after being on a waiting list for a diagnosis for 3 years at another practice. Once I transfered, I was seen, helped through the "right to choose" process and diagnosed within a week. The longest I've had to wait for an appointment at the GP was 2 weeks. If I had any questions or if the situation was a bit more urgent, I called them and the reception staff were always really helpful.
I've been seen by a few doctors but recently I was seen by Dr. Tessa Leake and I was so overwhelmed by how much she cared and was willing to listen to me - to work through my symptoms to find a solution.
I am unbelievably happy with this service and it is such a breath of fresh air to trust a practice with your health.

Incredibly Poor Service. Please avoid and change to an actual GP practice. Was prescribed the wrong product by the GP on an emergency prescription. Had the chance to rectify when I queried but blamed the pharmacist on dispensing error when the prescription details were wrong by the GP and this was NOT checked. Despite the product Brand Name and Product Code written. Am trying to get a prescription exemption certificate but they keep sending SMS messages which I can’t appear to receive. There appears to be no alternative method if you can’t receive SMS messages. I’ve sent multiple complaints and questions this week to try and get resolutions.
