I've been here multiple times. The thermal spa is a nice way to relax after a long week. You can book in 2hour slots. Sessions are usually mixed male and female but if you prefer females only then they have female only sessions on Fridays. The spa has multiple steam rooms and wet and dry saunas. If you're brave enough take a plunge in the ice cold pool. After you have finished sweating off your stress in the different rooms you can relax on the loungers in the relaxation room enjoying a nice cold free beverage to soothing music. They provide slippers, bathrobe and towel as well as a key and padlock for the lockers. Will be back again and again.
Been looking forward to this as had heard that the spa had undergone renovations recently. A pleasant environment with much needed modernising. The relaxation room was a definite improvement. Unfortunately, along with many others, i was ushered out ahead of time. As me and my friend had booked the final time slot and were told at 3.45 that we needed to be out of the building by 4. The site says booking is for 2 hours spa experience and we had ours cut short. In the changing room there was not enough space or facilities for everyone to mass exodus. I was then told by a member of staff that she was going to lock up and i needed to leave. A pleasant spa experience overall but hampered by this non spa like exit.
I was excited to visit the spa since the refurb. It does look smart and is definitely improved. My gripe is that I paid for 2 hours but was ushered out of the spa area to the changing rooms 15 mins before the end of the 2 hour session. Ours was the last of the day and the lady said the spa closed at 4 so we all needed to be gone by then. There’s not enough showers for all of us to get through them and dressed by then. When we asked at the front desk they were surprised to hear this. However when we tried to leave the same lady had locked one of the exits. Definitely some teething problems here… maybe they need to change the session times?
I attended the women’s-only thermal spa session and was shocked to find two men present, despite it being 30 minutes into the session. I had to press the panic button four times before staff finally intervened and asked them to leave. It’s clear that the staff didn’t check between sessions to ensure the space remained women-only. I would advise Muslim women to avoid this place, as it does not prioritise safe, women-only spaces.
I visited the Spa after it had undegone refurbishment,luckily it wasn't busy this morning. Some sections have been upgraded either with the new tiles or knocking down the wall to make space for an infrared sauna cabin. Some others remain exactly as they have been, i.e. Hot Room still with old tiles, black grouting in between them, which doesn't feel nice to stay in this room, sections don't seem to differ in the temperature it felt the same in all 3. Positives: - Steam rooms have new tiles, dry sauna had good temperature. - Relaxation area contains comfy loungers, cute little tea cups, little snacks like nuts, dried fruits, water dispensers with cups present in hammam and relaxation area. - Staff was courteous and happy to help. - Nice touch with Elemis products available in the showers so you don't have to bring your own toiletries. Bag with bath robe, towel, and flip flops were provided. - toilets and changing rooms were clean. - The ice fountain is still there and cold water bucket. Negatives: - Steam rooms were barely warm, ended up standing next to the steam dispenser to reach somehow effect, that should have been available throughout the room. - Plunge pool was not cold enough to have desired effect, - Monsoon shower as advertised does not release any scent, hot water button doesn't work, almost hanging off the wall. - infrared sauna very small , space for about 3 ppl max at a time, didn't feel warm either, gives a shed with windows vibe ;)) I have not used any treatments, so I won't be able to comment on it.
